Shaunya Sood, the Founder of Chetna NGO, is a high school student and the Head Girl of her school—a role that reflects her deep commitment to leadership, service, and social change.

Shaunya’s passion for financial literacy stems from her belief that economic empowerment is the foundation of true independence, especially for women and girls facing systemic inequality or vulnerable situations like domestic abuse. She founded Chetna to break the cycle of financial dependence by equipping young women with the skills, tools, and confidence to make informed financial decisions.

As Head Girl, she has led numerous school-wide initiatives, combining her organizational skills with her sense of responsibility to uplift others. Through Chetna, she has spearheaded seminars, partnered with educators and mentors, and mobilized a team of youth volunteers across India.

Shaunya is determined to make financial education not just a subject, but a movement—one that gives every girl the power to shape her own future.
